More than 50 International energy efficiency schemes

More than 50 energy efficiency schemes operate globally. These schemes have been introduced by governments to improve end-use energy efficiency and other objectives such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and customer energy bills. The most effective schemes include those with an Energy Efficiency Obligation (EEO).

Significant expertise now exists worldwide in this area. Australia has much to contribute with various jurisdictions having established some of the earliest schemes in the world from 2009 which are delivering cost-effective results.

Of the 50 states of the United States of America, 26 of them had binding energy savings obligations at January 2017.
